When
formed in 1989, ECC was the centre of service delivery for Systemcare,
a leading UK supply chain management provider. Supply chain
management is the organisation of materials, information and
financial flows in a network consisting of suppliers, manufacturers,
distributors and customers. The coordination and integration
of these flows within and across companies are critical in today's
markets. Systemcare had over 20 customers in different industries
in Scotland. ECC helped to establish its reputation for first-class
support with an ability to add value through product customisation
and to integrate with other information systems.
ECC continued its development through the mid 1990s, delivering
business software and services which could provide cost savings,
create business advantage or radically improve the operational
environment of our customers such as Alldays, Safeway, Britannic
Asset Management, George Stewart & Co. Ltd, Deep Freeze Supplies,
Waddies Print Limited and many others.
It was the close working relationship with one particular customer
which led to ECC's first e-business assignment in 1997. Bodycote
Materials Testing Limited quickly gained value from the ECC-conceptualised
Laboratory Information Management System which has cut costs
and improved both BMT customer request turnaround times and
manufacturing cycles. The result was a true 'customer relationship
management' solution.
Since 1999 ECC has expanded rapidly. Capitalising on the opportunity
to develop B2B excellence, ECC introduced business consultancy
services to the already successful technical architecture capability.
This expansion now forms a service portfolio which supports
customer requirements from the CEO's vision down to the basic
improvement of business processes and information management.
