in the various debates covering topics such as 'Communities

(a prominent Scottish KM practitioner), SER, Lotus, BT, Smartlogik
and Cedar.
The
two-day event was supported by an exhibition from the top
players in the KM and Customer Relationship Management market
space including top performers Autonomy and Sopheon.
The
event objectives were aptly summarised as follows:
The
conference that puts knowledge into action
Knowledge
and management - two ingredients for a great conference
At
the KM 2001 conference, we aim to cut through the hype around
KM. The conference will deliver lively - sometimes contentious
- debates and presentations about what really matters in the
field of KM today. It will also provide delegates with inspiration,
firmly rooted in reality, about how KM tools and practices
can help improve their businesses through an insight into
current practices and emerging thinking in the key areas of
KM content, culture and capability.
Issues
that will be explored and explained by speakers drawn from
the leaders in the study, deployment and implementation of
KM will include: e-government and e-learning, leadership and
virtual team working, getting users involved, in-house and
outsourced solutions, knowledge asset management, plus a wide
variety of case studies from organisations in different business
and not-for-profit sectors.
Topics
covered will include:
